Melodie is a dynamic speaker, international lecturer and author. Her wit, authenticity, and engaging style place her in high demand for speaking engagements worldwide. Melodie is also well-published in psychiatric nursing, nursing, nursing education and Medical/Nursing English. These include textbook (full authorship and as contributor) and articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Melodie has a Masters of Education with a specialization in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. She has a Master’s of Science in Administrative Studies as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology/Sociology and has been a Registered Psychiatric Nurse for more than 25 years. Over the past years, she has been a Nursing Instructor teaching Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses at the College and University level. Melodie was the Dean of Programs for a private health care academy where she developed and taught classes for practical nurses. She currently writes courses in nursing, health care, and communication for two Canadian universities. She is internationally renowned for her work in Medical/Nursing English. 

In the past, Melodie ran her own counselling and therapy practice for 7 years, and was on the Board of Directors for the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of British Columbia 3 times.  She was one of the original members of the BC Association of Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC), serving as Vice-President for 4 years. . She has experience teaching English in Canada, Bangladesh and Mexico.
Clayton International Consulting & Educational Services is named after Melodie's brother, David Clayton Hull who passed away suddenly at the age of 25. David was "a great entrepreneur and dedicated to a career in film production and writing". Clayton was his radio and television name. Melodie honours her brother by keeping his name and his spirit alive through her own creative endeavours.
